thoughts of you...

i am posting here a poem which i wrote back in highschool. notice its dark theme? this was written during the undying throes of a monumental heartbreak. comments and criticisms are most welcome.

thoughts of you

hand in hand with you girl
as we take a walk in the park
my love, my life, my shining pearl
you chase away the cold and the dark
we pause for a while and i look at you
with so much love written on my face
you smile at me and the way you do
leaves me dreamin' and in a haze
you stare at me with your dark round eyes
and with words unspoken i read your mind
till the sun stops shining and the ocean dries
forever we will be together in a bind
our silhouettes remain as dusk sets in
you touch my cheek as if wanting to say
"there's so much more we could have been
if you were man enough to make me stay"
the waxing moon makes its way into the sky
as the silver stars brightly shine
i turn away not wantng to cry
in front of those searching eyes of thine
bowing my head, i know i'm to blame
for all the tears and the wasted time too
never again will it be the same
and all i'll have are thoughts of you
